Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS)

Brief Summary

In contrast to a more process-heavy methodology like Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), LeSS is a straightforward, minimalist agile framework that takes Scrum and scales it to multiple teams. It emphasizes simplification: do what is minimally necessary. The “LeSS approach” is to keep the simplicity of Scrum and add what’s needed to have larger groups and projects coordinate and collaborate. The teams are no longer working in a vacuum or separate “silos.”

Obviously, many organizations are using Scrum. They’ve already experienced problems when trying to scale it up. Adding LeSS to manage larger efforts leverages the experience with Scrum, both good and bad. There isn’t much that’s new, and what is new is rather intuitive.
