The IEEE started out as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.  Now it's just the IEEE.  The organization is, to quote their website:

The world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology

IEEE is all things technology.  Not just computers.  I know because some of what I've been researching for a GPS (global positioning system) project is contained in IEEE publications.  Check the website and you'll see what I mean, but do more than just a quick review of the site.  Take some time and explore.  There's so much there.
