The Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA) is an excellent source of information about all things dealing with consulting or finding a consultant.  Many people new to consulting have no real idea where to start, how to set up their business, what they need (insurance, accounting software and services, legal services, etc.) to support their business, and have many other questions.  There are many changes to tax laws and other issues that all consultants need to keep up on.  There are many local ICCA chapters, regional meetings, newsletters, webinars, national conferences, and much, much more.
